So...

The weather has been really nice here the past week.
I mean like really nice.

Obama was here last week.
I didn't to hear his speech cause' I came to late but he stopped and talked to the people outside first so I still got a good picture.

THEM is performing in the French Quarter this weekend; hopefully it doesn't rain.

Oh, I made the Dean's List! I would like to say I got $100, a cookie, and a brand new camera but I all I got was a piece of paper.

Today is Valentine's Day and I don't have a Valentine but I don't care cause my mom sent me a package full of cavities, I mean candy, plus season 3 of Martin on DVD.

And now a poem:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
College is sweet
But hanging out in LA with my cousin during Spring Break will be sweeter

Mardi Gras....need I say more

We're in the midst of Mardi Gras as I write this so I just thought I'd give the first year perspective of it along with some of my guidelines:

1.)Get lots of sleep
2.)Eat sometime (sounds simple enough but plenty of people here forget to eat)
3.)Always have a group friends or at least one buddy
4.)Don't rush to get the parades because they'll probably start late
5.)Do all school work before Friday night
6.)If you invite people from out of town make sure you keep an eye on them around
campus (if they go down, you go down)
7.)Sleep some more
8.)Have fun (but not emergency room fun)

Now are a few photos from the festivities so far:

Not much too say

There's not a lot to say this week. I have a lot of work. French is confusing. I'm tired of hearing about rushing. I'm just tired in general. It's a typical week.
Here's a picture for your enjoyment (my niece):

New Orleans Sweet New Orleans

I am back.

I know y'all are excited so quit floodin my inbox with emails.

But seriously I'm pretty happy to be back at school. Not saying that my break wasn't good but there's just a point where you get bored of sitting around doing nothing. But I did get to go visit my brother, sister-in-law, and their baby in North Carolina so that was pretty cool. I also wrote/arranged a couple of songs too. Oh I can't forget "Juno". That is the best movie I've seen so far this year (whatever I don't care if there's only been 16 days this year).

As far as classes go, I felt alright about my schedule until I actually went to the classes. By the end of my first day I realized I had too much on my plate and that I would have to change my schedule a bit. So no Latin American Studies for me this semester. It wasn't the course load itself but the course load plus the community service. As a student at Tulane you realize that at one or another you will need to a service-learning course but there are only so many courses that fulfill that requirement, so make sure you plan your schedule accordingly.

Besides classes, I'm really ready to start singing again. Hopefully I will be able to do Chamber Choir, as well as the Tulane Choir and my a cappella group. And I also got a new supervisor for my desk job, so there are definitely a lot of changes this semsester. I just hope I can do as well (grades wise) as last semester.

You don't have to say it.....

I know you missed me.

And know its been a while, yet again, since my last post but hey I'm a busy person; plus college is stressful.

To make up for it I'll hit the important points.

-John Legend performed here about 4 weeks ago: amazing, nuff' said

-Thanksgiving was great, I got to go home and see all my friends

-My birthday was the week after Thanksgiving so it was my first birthday ever not being at home (you'll have a lot of firsts in college); got a new phone

-My a cappella group (aka THEM) had a couple concerts where we premiered my first a capella arrangement and your's truly just happened to be the soloist.

There's been other stuff but that's pretty much the important stuff.

Wait how could I forget FINALS! This has probably been the most stressful 2 weeks of the entire semester. But it wasn't too bad for me because I actually went to class and kept up with the notes and what not.

Well, just thought I'd give you a nice little update before I leave to go home today for a month break.....that's right I know your jealous.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
